Languages Giant

Frenzied Rage. When the giant takes damage it makes a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or enters a frenzied rage that lasts until it is knocked unconscious or it has not taken damage for 1d4 minutes. While raging, the giant gains advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws, and its melee weapon attacks deal 3 extra damage.

Mobile. The giant can Dash through difficult terrain without requiring additional movement. Whenever it makes an attack against a creature, it doesn’t provoke opportunity attacks from that creature until the end of its turn.

Power Attack. When the giant makes its first melee weapon attack in a turn, it can choose to take a –5 penalty to its melee weapon attack rolls in exchange for a +10 bonus to melee weapon damage.

Relentless (1/ Short Rest ). If the giant takes 10 damage or less that would reduce it to 0 hit points, it is reduced to 1 hit point instead.

Sunlight Sensitivity. While in sunlight, the giant has disadvantage on attack rolls , as well as on Perception checks that rely on sight.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The giant attacks twice.

Greataxe. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 25 (3d12+6) bludgeoning damage.

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d10+6) bludgeoning damage and if the target is a creature it is grappled (escape DC 18).

Rock. Ranged Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, range 60/240 ft., one target. Hit: 21 (3d10+6) bludgeoning damage.

BONUS ACTIONS

Aggressive. The giant moves up to its Speed toward a hostile creature that it can see.

Powerful Swipe. After the giant uses a melee weapon attack to reduce a creature to 0 hit points or after it scores a critical hit with a heavy melee weapon, it can make one melee weapon attack.

Description

A survivor from Camp Zesu , Garthlann killed some merchants a few weeks ago and took from their packs anything that looked even remotely magical, but as he slept Nemirtvi’s influence flickered out to touch upon a mutagen the cave giant had acquired. The next morning Garthlann drank from the vial and was transformed, changed into a feral creature. Since then he has been haunted every night by grotesque nightmares that drove him to the Seekirch ruins, keeping a camp outside of the Crypt of the Inevitable Sunset.

Ravenous Roamer. After the PCs have acquired a relic, the vampire lord incites the cave giant’s savagery and he begins to roam the countryside like a hungry beast. Inspecting Garthlann’s corpse and belongings, the party finds the insides of his armor to be practically coated with dead bugs—a DC 13 Nature or DC 15 Survival check identifies these as swamp insects only native to the Bog Roads.

Monster Type Description

Giants look like immense humanoids, standing from 10 feet tall (like ogres ) to 30 (like storm giants ). Some giants, like trolls , have human-like shapes but monstrous features.
