The Maker of Gods
Unique (uncraftable)
One sinuous edge of this massive, adamantine flamberge greatsword is bone white, the other deep maroon, split along the sword’s central ridge. Reflected in each polished surface is the face of its long-imprisoned outsiders: the chaotic evil nalfeshnee Abraxos and the lawful evil fallen deva Kabiel. In life, the two conspired to overthrow their masters demonic and deific in pursuit of their own godhood. Now, the two immortal creatures are bound to The Maker of Gods, their essence bestowing the power of the gods on a mortal wielder—for now.
You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls with this weapon, and while you are attuned to it, your reach is increased by 5 feet. When you attune to the weapon, you must side with Abraxos or Kabiel. Once this decision is made, it can’t be changed.
When you kill a living creature whose CR is greater than half your level with The Maker of Gods, its soul is consumed by the chosen outsider imprisoned inside. The outsider gains 1 soul charge, gaining increased abilities as outlined below. The abilities gained are cumulative.
Aura. The Maker of Gods radiates a strong aura identical to that of the chosen outsider. While attuned, the you also radiate this aura. If the you already have an aura that opposes the weapon’s, you are cursed. The nature of the curse is at the discretion of the Narrator, but has an effect equivalent to bestow curse and lasts until the you end your attunement by performing a cleansing ritual over the course of a short rest .
Sentience. The sword is a sentient weapon with Intelligence 19, Wisdom 18, and Charisma 18. It has hearing and truesight out to a range of 60 feet. It understands all languages, and communicates telepathically with you. Both Abraxos and Kabiel can communicate, but only the chosen outsider can inflict penalties if you are in conflict. The second outsider’s voice is faint and infrequent by comparison.
Personality. The two outsiders hate each other after their long imprisonment, and will often give conflicting advice or instructions. Both Abraxos and Kabiel are unified in their desire to kill mortals and consume their souls, but each is opposed to aiding creatures or pursuing goals contrary to their lawful or chaotic natures. When in conflict, you lose access to any benefits granted by soul points and are cursed as though you had a conflicting aura, as detailed in Aura above. This curse lasts until you are not in conflict or until you end the attunement by being the target of remove curse cast at at least 7th-level. After forcibly ending the attunement, you can’t attune to this weapon again.
