The spell ends if you or your companions do anything harmful towards the target. The target knows it was charmed by you when the spell ends.

For each slot level above 1st, you affect one additional target that is within 30 feet of other targets.
Rare Versions
D’Amandre’s Charm Likeminded Person. This spell’s cast time is a reaction, which you take when you have an amicable exchange with the target, who must be non-hostile towards you. The target has disadvantage on the saving throw.
